Hagen Show Festival

The Mount Hagen Show in Papua New Guinea is a significant cultural festival showcasing the country's tribal diversity. First staged in 1962 before Papua New Guinea’s Independence as an event to unify tribes, today the main aim of the festival is still to promote unity and peace among tribes while also offering a vibrant display of cultural heritage. Held over two days in August, spectators can expect to witness traditional dances, singing, and rituals by tribes from across the Highlands region.
