New York- based broker Crispin Baynes on why the 85.6m Abeking & Rasmussen yacht C2 - much admired from afar but always private and offered now for the very first time - presents a flexible opportunity like no other
'Whatever you want to do on board a yacht, you can do it on C2,' says broker Crispin Baynes. 'Whether that's a private holiday for the whole family and entourage, entertainment for large or small groups, high end charter, living and working on board as a private owner, she has the flexibility to do it all.'
The source of Baynes' excitement is the 85.6m (280.8ft) Abeking & Rasmussen yacht C2, delivered in 2009 to interior and exterior designs by Reymond Langton Design and Brian Callahan assisting with the interiors. Originally one of A&R's 78m series, she received a 7m (23ft) extension aft during a 2019 refit to include a large swimming pool and beach club area. This also significantly enhanced her shared guest areas and boosted the natural flow through the spaces.
'She was designed and built by a very experienced owner to deliver the ultimate in flexible accommodation for a multigenerational family that loves to spend time together and wants to bring its staff along,' Baynes continues. 'In full guest mode, she welcomes up to 31 guests in 15 cabins and you just don't find that anywhere else in this size range, you just don't. But many of those cabins are convertible, into media rooms, meeting rooms, doubles or twins, you could add a gym, library, cinema, wellness centre - I've never seen a platform with the adaptability that C2 has.'
