Burgess buoyant at the continued rise of Cannes as the best sub-50m yacht show.
The Cannes Yachting Festival 2018 closed on Sunday 16 September having welcomed 51,000 visitors to view 638 boats, including 150 yachts over 20m, displayed by 542 exhibitors. Our video review showcases three of the six yachts, ranging from 37-43m, that Burgess brought to the show this year.
Burgess Director and Sales Broker Tim Wiltshire praised the Festival’s direction of travel, saying “It was a good show: quality traffic, new buyers, not much trade business, and the people there were very serious about wanting to buy. In the long run we will sell yachts through this show. We’re very positive about the Cannes Yachting Festival.”
Head of Sales Richard Lambert was similarly upbeat about the Festival’s positioning in the market and in particular with its efforts to attract genuinely new prospects: “We were pleased with the quality of customers coming to explore the Cannes Yachting Festival. The show caters very well to the sub-50m market.” Click here for a glimpse of the show.
The Cannes Yachting Festival 2019 will feature a significant reorganisation aimed at “better serving the interests of clients” said Festival Director Sylvie Ernoult at the show’s opening press conference on 11 September. Port Canto will be dedicated solely to sailing vessels, with berthing for over 100 yachts, while the Vieux Port will be given over solely to motor vessels, “enabling shipyards and equipment manufacturers to expand their exhibition areas on land and in the water,” she added.
Cannes Yachting Festival 2019 will take place on 10-15 September.
