Last chance for late summer fun!

From Saint-Tropez to Monaco, via Porto Cervo to Amalfi, the west Mediterranean has long captured the hearts and souls of the yachting crowd. Drawn by its cosmopolitan culture and sun-kissed lifestyle, this cruising ground comes with glamour as standard. Think about dropping anchor at one of the many glorious beach clubs to exploring the chic towns for designer shopping and people-watching from café terraces.

For respite from the crowds, anchor off a serene beach on Formentera for yoga at sunset or explore Menorca’s quiet coastline by sea kayak or mountain bike. Corsica and Sardinia, both fringed with tiny coves for private swimming and sunbathing, also make an excellent choice for soaking up some late summer sun. 

Chart a course for Greece and further east to find the Mediterranean at its most exotic. On the ‘Turquoise Coast’ of Turkey, you will discover fashionable resorts with modern marinas and heavenly white-sand beaches. Savour fresh meze and grilled seafood in the al fresco restaurants of Bodrum, wander around the vibrant bazaar at Fethiye, and explore the narrow cobbled streets of Antalya with a Turkey yacht charter. And, in the pristine waters, discover dolphins and sea turtles.

The Adriatic, sitting within the shores of Croatia, Montenegro and the long eastern coast of Italy, has long been a superyacht playground par excellence. The coastlines and islands in this stretch of water offer some of the best cruising grounds in the world, with an abundance of historic towns, stunning scenery and (in case you hadn’t heard) some of the best nightlife in the Mediterranean.

Anchor in UNESCO world heritage site Bay of Kotor - for fresh lobster on a restaurant terrace with views of the blue waters and mountainous backdrop. Island hop Croatia’s stylish isles, from the cobblestone paths of Brac to the Blue Grotto on Bisevo Island, one of ten flooded sea caves providing phenomenal diving.

The incredible Bahamas archipelago consists of 700 islands and more than 2,000 uninhabited cays. Shallow, warm waters, pink sandy beaches and wild swimming pigs, championship golf courses and succulent, sweet juicy crabs are the ingredients for the perfect charter. Sport-fishing at Andros island, snorkel above a wrecked plane at Shroud Cay and receive a warm welcome at Harbour Island sipping cocktails under the stars.

The 100-plus islands that make up French Polynesia are scattered throughout the South Pacific. This is a land of vanilla pods and pearls from black-lip oysters. Swim with manta rays in the Tuamotu Islands and snorkel the reefs in the Marquesas Islands. Humpback whales mate off the coast of Rurutu Island, while the religious shrines and artifacts on the island of Raiatea call to be explored.

On the other side of the Pacific Ocean the Galapagos Islands offer an expedition worthy of any bucket list.
