The Burgess brokerage team has seen a higher than usual spike in sales and purchase activity in the final quarter of the year, securing the sale of six high profile yachts in November alone.

This significant rise in November sales activity year-on-year bodes well for the state of the sales market going into 2016.

Burgess brought the client for three recent North European pedigree yachts, including the award-winning 60m (196.6ft) Lurssen ARKLEY, the 60m Amels EVENT and the 37.3m (122.4ft) Heesen sports yacht ILONA.

Two sailing yachts from the Central Agency fleet have also changed ownership this month; the 38.8m (127.3ft) regatta winner GANESHA 1, and the 34.2m (112.1ft) Royal Huisman-built UNFURLED.

The sale of the 43m (141.1ft) motor yacht EMOTION rounded off a busy month and was announced on Monday.

“We typically experience an upsurge in sale and purchase activity at the end of the autumn boat show season, but the spike in activity this year has been more tangible than ever,” Burgess Senior Sales Broker Peter Brown said.

“With further transactions due to close before the end of the year we anticipate a busy start to 2016.”
