Discover clear waters and warm sunshine through to October

The East Mediterranean, blessed with warm sunshine and crystal clear water, is the ideal destination to enjoy a late season yacht charter. Stretching from April until October, Turkey’s summer is the longest, with Greece and Croatia offering good options in June and September. The diversity of destinations in this region is vast: from vibrant cities to deserted coves, historical ruins to red-hot nightlife, you can select your ideal itinerary. To explore the Eastern Mediterranean in utmost comfort and luxury, a Burgess yacht charter is the ultimate option.

Croatia’s indented coastline, scattered with islands, is only truly accessible by yacht. Land-based travellers may have to choose between the majesty of old Dubrovnik and the beautiful island of Hvar with its buzzing nightlife: on a yacht charter you do not. The secluded beaches of the uninhabited Kornati islands may be beyond their reach – but not yours…

Burgess offers some wonderful yachts for charter in the Adriatic, including the classic 36.9m (121.1ft) FAIR LADY, 43.8m (143.7ft)  SILVER DREAM and 47.8m (156.8ft)  VA BENE, which has been refitted to the highest standards, optimising comfort. VA BENE is also a watersports school with an extensive collection of equipment, as well as a sun deck jacuzzi and zero-speed stabilisers.

Greece offers even greater diversity than Croatia, with over 1400 islands to explore. Of course there are the famous ancient ruins, clear waters and picture-postcard harbours – but there is so much more. From the wine dark seas of Homer’s Ionian, to the stunning Cyclades including Santorini clinging to what’s left of a huge exploded volcano. The less-visited Aegean boasts thermal springs and stunning scenery; the lovely Dodecanese could be visited in a charter that also included nearby Turkey.

This proximity means the following yachts are available in both Greece and Turkey: the 48.7m (159.8ft) Codecasa CYAN, and the Andrew Winch designed 60m (196.9ft) CLOUD 9. The 47.6m (156.2ft) motor yacht AMPHITRITE has a suitably classical name and appearance. Her opulent interiors echo a golden age, yet AMPHITRITE includes all modern amenities such as zero-speed stabilisers, satellite TV and integral audio-visual systems.

Turkey is probably the most low-key destination in the Eastern Mediterranean, and definitely the most exotic. You can still enjoy warm sea bathing well into October, and there are endless calm bays and private coves to discover on the meandering shores of the Aegean all the way down to the southern ‘Turquoise Coast.’ You’ll find trendy resort towns dotted along the Bodrum Peninsula, and don’t miss bustling Fethiye with its huge bazaar and ancient rock tombs. Everywhere history is evident, set against a background of soaring pine-clad mountains dropping into clear azure seas.

Explore Turkey (or Greece) on board the sleek 41.6m (136.4ft) Mondomarine SIERRA ROMEO or Lurssen’s 73m (239.5ft) TITANIA.
