The second day of the Monaco Yacht Show opened for Burgess with the arrival of Prince Albert of Monaco as he took a tour of the largest yacht in show – the 110m JUBILEE.

Delivered in July 2017, JUBILEE has been breaking records ever since. Firstly, the largest yacht to emerge from The Netherlands, she now also holds the title for largest yacht ever to be exhibited at Monaco too. The prince met with the crew and captain before meeting lead broker for Burgess, Rupert Nelson.

As the gates opened at 10, thousands of yacht enthusiasts, industry personnel and yacht owners filled the famous docks. The 75.5m Oceanco ANASTASIA and the 70m Lurssen MARTHA ANN proved popular, with tour bookings at capacity.

The second day of the show also marked a prestigious day for Burgess as the winners of the inaugural ‘Crew Photographer of the Year 2017’ were announced. Industry photographer’s Blue Iprod scrawled through a shortlist of 12 to choose three winners. The standard was extremely high.

Prizes were awarded to:
First place: Tom Pearce – ‘Lobster pot watch keeping through the fog’
Second place: Vladimi Nikolov – ‘Lightening in the Caribbean Sea’
Third place: Japie Weideman – ‘Sunsets are proof that endings can often be beautiful too’

The day culminated on board SARASTAR with the annual Burgess party. The beautiful 60m 2017 delivered Italian-built yacht hosted a sophisticated soiree for a select number of guests. In association with Barclays and Rolls Royce, local DJ Natalie Earp from Sound Purpose played on the aft deck as caviar and Perrier Jouet was passed around. Lead broker on board SARASTAR Dominic Millman commented, ‘A successful evening, with an excellent turn out of guests.’
