Burgess is delighted to offer the performance sailing yacht ODIN exclusively for sale with an asking price of EUR 15,000,000.
ODIN is a 35.1m (115.2ft) Bermudan-rigged performance sloop built in carbon SPRINT prepreg sandwich to DNV GL 100 A5 sailing yacht classification and delivered in 2018 by Nautor's Swan. With naval architecture and exterior design by Germán Frers and interiors by Michiel de Vos of deVosdeVries Design, ODIN is a Swan 115 FD, or flush decked, giving her a sleek low-profile coachroof and reduced windage for optimum performance.
Race-course performance drove many of the design and engineering decisions. In racing trim, she is designed to have 30 crew, at least 10 of whom are required for sailhandling. She has a North NorLam pinhead delivery main and a wardrobe of North 3Di RAW racing foresails, and North downwind sails in Cuben Fiber.
Sails are flown on a high modulus carbon mast and boom by Southern Spars with hydraulic upper and lower deflectors and ECSix carbon rigging. Deck gear is by Harken and electronics by B&G.
With twin rudders and a lifting keel that reduces her draft from 6.8m to 4.5m (22.2ft to 14.8ft), she can drop anchor between races in sheltered bays. In delivery trim she is easily managed by six crew and she comfortably accommodates six guests in three cabins: one owner's double cabin, one guest double cabin and a further guest twin cabin. All guest areas have Sonos Connect and B&W speakers and there are Sony TVs in both the main saloon and the owner's cabin. There are three cabins for six permanent crew.
Her build captain and engineer Paul Middelberg speaks very highly of her:
It doesn't matter what size the boat is, the instant a boat jumps up and out of the water and starts to plane, I can't help but smile. I have sailed professionally for twelve years, and I have never sailed a superyacht that could offer that feeling, before ODIN.
On her maiden voyage south, we jumped into a 20kn NW and conservatively sailed with the J4 and two reefs regularly hitting speeds over 25kn. We covered 300nm from the Kallan Light House to Aland in 21 hours setting the record for fastest Swan Light House to Light House. With a full race crew and big downwind sails, ODIN would easily push through the 30kn mark.
ODIN was built to win the ORCSY (Offshore Racing Congress Super Yacht) circuit, and will if given the chance. She weighs less than any of the competing boats in the ORCSY circuit and has more sail area. She is one of the most fun boats I have ever sailed.
Burgess is delighted to be able to bring the rocketship ODIN to market and all expressions of interest are welcomed. She is lying in Palma where inspection can be arranged by your Burgess broker.
