Burgess sold 42 yachts in 2022 with a combined last asking price value of over EUR 2 billion. To put that figure in context SYT iQ states that 500 yachts were sold in 2021, a stellar year for all, with a combined value of EUR 8 billion. Burgess sold 47 yachts worth EUR 2 billion, claiming a 25 percent market share.

In 2022 the market slowed somewhat according to SYT iQ, with just 326 yacht sales and a combined value of EUR 6 billion. Against that background Burgess grew its market share to 33 percent, outperforming the market with a record year.

That momentum continues into 2023 with no fewer than five sales in under two weeks. As well as a confidential in-house sale of over 60m (197ft), we closed on the 42.6m (139.7ft) CRN Ancona-built EMOTION2 after just four months on the market and three 11.5m (37.7ft) Reliance Yachts tenders.

This powerful sales performance attracts owners who want to work with a reliable, professional, experienced company to sell their yachts. That’s why, in the first month of the year, we have signed seven new additions to the sales fleet.

The iconic PELORUS is a 115m (377.3ft) Lurssen with powerful Heywood exteriors and Disdale beach-house-style interiors and CLOUD 9 is an 88.5m (290.3ft) Oceanco yacht by Oeino and Sinot and for charter with Burgess (from EUR 1,000,000 per week). Both have quite exceptional pedigree.

The next three, all award winners, are KOGO, a 71.7m (235.2ft) diesel-electric yacht by French shipyard Alstom Leroux Naval with dynamic positioning and the same design heritage as PELORUS; the 62.3m (204.4ft) Feadship FLAG, also for charter with Burgess (from EUR 378,000 per week); and CAIPIRINHA, a 60m (196.9ft) Lurssen, which, as ARKLEY, was Motor Yacht of the Year in the WSA 2010.

Our two most recently signed yachts, both MCA compliant for commercial operation, are the 45.7m (150ft) high-performance island-hopper STEALTH, hull seven in the Palmer Johnson 150 Sports Series and a yacht capable of 20 knots. Next is the 40m (131.2ft) Mengi-Yay-built yacht SERENITY II, whose accommodation for 12 guests includes an upper deck owner's suite, two VIP suites and three lower deck double cabins.
