When it comes to taking the plunge into your first charter experience, it is naturally a time for enormous excitement, but it can also feel somewhat enigmatic. It certainly looks like fun from afar, but just what sort of activities can you expect from a first-class charter yacht and her crew?

As an example, one fantastic pedigree charter vessel with an impeccable track record from our charter fleet is TITANIA, the 72.0m (236.2ft) Lürssen motoryacht. With a crew of 20 taking care of your every wish and whim, she is a vessel dedicated to pleasure and relaxation, and her professional crew is all trained to maximise the enjoyment in their own way.

One of the most obvious activities that superyacht guests can experience is time on the water. But the dizzying array of toys and watersports equipment that deckhand Matthew Healy can produce on demand would impress even the most avid of water babies. From wakeboarding and jetskiing to the more sedate pace of sailing dinghies and stand up paddle boards, there’s little that Matthew can’t provide or guide you how to use. He and the rest of the friendly and safety-conscious deck team are on hand to make each day as special and memorable as the last on a charter. But there’s one truly special feature that makes TITANIA the queen of water-based fun.

“What sets us apart from other boats in our range is our waterpark,” Matthew explains. “There hasn’t been a day this charter season that the waterpark hasn’t been used, weather permitting. From the little kids to the adults, everyone loves it when comes out.”

Adrenaline-fuelled activities keep some guests endlessly entertained, while for others a more relaxing pace is key to their enjoyment of the charter. For truly exclusive indulgence, TITANIA’s masseuse/beautician Kayleigh Westgarth is on call to provide a wide choice of treatments in the yacht’s massage room and beauty salon, or any number of locations across the motoryacht’s five decks. Popular spots include the private master suite massage room for principal guests, and the pool deck for mani-pedis with the other ladies on the trip. She pampers guests with a number of massages including hot stone, Thai and Swedish varieties, as well as a range of facials and body treatments.

Of course, one of the greatest advantages of chartering a superyacht is that you can explore new places, cultures and natural wonders during a trip. Having worked on superyachts since 2003, TITANIA’s Captain Will Bagshaw has a wealth of knowledge and experience from cruising the Mediterranean, where she is currently located for the charter season. Although he enjoys spending time in popular spots like the South of France and Sardinia, for him Croatia is the jewel in the crown of European waters.

“I love Croatia for its raw natural beauty, culture, architecture and cruising grounds; the water is unparalleled,” enthuses Captain Will. “We usually pick guests up in the medieval town of Kotor in Montenegro and then cruise through the southernmost fjord in the Mediterranean. The Croatian islands are well protected no matter the direction of the weather, and the coastal towns have good restaurants, great beaches, archaeological sites and natural wonders. It’s the full package.”

There’s so much more to a yacht charter than someone new to the experience would expect and, although each yacht has different facilities and arrangements, there’s one thing they all have in common: an enthusiastic, talented and dedicated crew ready to tailor-make a trip that’s perfect for you.
