MARKET PICKS UP PACE WITH FOUR YACHTS SOLD IN ONE WEEK

There's been a recent surge in sales market activity and in the last week alone, Burgess has sold the award winning 60m motor yacht ELANDESS, the canoe-stern 61.3m NEW SUNRISE, the classic 36m sailing yacht YANNEKE TOO and the 44.8m ketch sailing yacht TIMONEER.

The 36m YANNEKE TOO was the first yacht sold last week and was the last sailing yacht ever built by Campers. This sleek gentleman’s yacht was designed by Bill Dixon and features a classic Terence Disdale interior. Her asking price was EUR 1,800,000.

The second on last week's sold list is the iconic NEW SUNRISE. Built at CRN Ancona in 2000 and impeccably maintained to the highest levels ever since, NEW SUNRISE features an elegant François Zuretti interior whose magnificence lies in its detailing which includes cherry wood panelling, intricately patterned fabrics and an incredible variety of onyx. NEW SUNRISE was asking USD 24,900,000.

After only one month on the sales market, ELANDESS was sold just weeks after her starring appearance at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. As the winner of Best Power 40-65m category at the International Superyacht Society Awards in 2010, plus a finalist in several categories at the 2010 ShowBoat Designs Awards and World Superyacht Awards, ELANDESS is a real head-turner. Delivered in 2009 by the acclaimed German shipyard, Abeking & Rasmussen, ELANDESS had an asking price of EUR 52,500,000

The fourth yacht sold in this extraordinary week was TIMONEER. This 44.8m (147ft) pedigree ketch yacht was built by Vitters and delivered in 2001. Designed by Dubois Naval Architects, she has an  impressive superyacht regatta record. Her traditional John Munford and Barbara Halsted interior features rich cherry wood paneling, and the sides of the salon can be opened for 360 degree views. Her asking price was USD 9,750,000.

The market is gathering momentum and with more deals on the table as buyers prepare for the summer season, good inventory is moving off the market at a rapid pace. Now is the time to contact your broker to discuss your yachting requirements.
