CHARTER YACHT MARIE WINS SUPERYACHT CUP PALMA REGATTA

The stunning black-hulled Burgess charter yacht MARIE swept the competition aside to win the 19th Superyacht Cup Palma on 20 June.

The four day international superyacht regatta, which is the second biggest event on the superyacht sailing calendar, attracted a top quality fleet to the beautiful Bay of Palma.

The 54.9m (180ft) classic ketch MARIE led from the front throughout, winning all three of her Class A races, and taking the overall title.

Built by Vitters, this pedigree super-sailer is a fun and exciting charter yacht with enormous appeal for families. Her classic gentleman’s yacht lines conceal the latest hybrid and carbon fibre technology which ensures that she is both agile and safe.

Bursting with character, MARIE has fully operational cannons that guests can fire to announce dinner, and a crow’s nest lift that hoists guests 37.5m (123ft) up the main mast for unbeatable views. With accommodation for eight guests in four cabins, including a private cockpit accessed from the master suite, and spacious entertaining areas both inside and on deck, MARIE successfully combines thoroughbred racing credentials with the full superyacht experience.

What better place to learn to sail than on the stunning 3.7m (12ft) Mylne-designed sailing dinghy, MARIETTA. Built in 1910, this exquisite launch is housed on board, alongside a wealth of thoroughly modern watersports equipment.

MARIE adds this Palma win to her impress regatta record, which includes a triumph in the Loro Piana BVI regatta in March 2015 and the 2014 St Barths Bucket. Available to charter in the Caribbean from December 2015, MARIE is a unique luxury sailing yacht with an outstanding crew who are as passionate about service as they are about sailing.
