HEMISPHERE stars in Oceana live charity auction
Luxury catamaran HEMISPHERE is the star auction lot at the annual Oceana SeaChange Summer Party in Laguna Beach, CA on 16 August. Guests at the high profile event will have the opportunity to bid for a week’s six-star charter on board HEMISPHERE on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
Four-time Academy Award® nominee Leonardo DiCaprio is the special guest at the magnificent garden party and live auction, held in the grounds of a private villa, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The actor is a long-time environmental advocate, whose Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation recently made a $3 million grant to Oceana, advocating responsible fishing measures in the California Current.
Thanks to the extreme generosity of her owner, this is the third time that HEMISPHERE has been involved in the auction and she has raised an incredible $400,000 for marine conservation charity Oceana over the years. Ten lucky guests will set sail on HEMISPHERE, which at 145ft is the world’s largest luxury sailing catamaran. The superyacht is a design masterpiece, with a Polynesian-themed interior and vast teak decks that are beautifully arranged for al fresco entertaining.
The award-winning HEMISPHERE offers luxury accommodation, amenities and hospitality, combined with unparalled scuba diving instruction and fishing opportunities. What better way to explore one of the world’s most spectacular dive destinations! An array of adrenaline-pumping watertoys, a deck jacuzzi, and acres of sunbathing space will keep guests endlessly entertained, while the talented on-board chef provides mouth-watering cuisine.
Built by Pendennis Shipyard in the UK, this yacht accommodates up to 10 guests, with two identical master suites on the main deck, two double cabins and an additional twin cabin with two pullman berths (bringing the total guest complement up to 12 for family groups). State-of-the-art technology and Wi-Fi internet access are available throughout the yacht.
An eight day yacht charter experience is valued at $280,000 and Captain Gavin Bladen and his crew can’t wait to share their eight years’ diving experience in the vibrant waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
