This summer choose a superyacht charter with a difference and opt for a cruise to the stunning vineyards of Croatia.

Combining a cultural tour with a charter holiday is truly an inspirational experience and one that stays with you for years after your holiday. For wine enthusiasts, Croatia offers a new dimension to your wine knowledge portfolio and a chance to sample some delectable vintages, not often found outside of the country itself. For Croatia only exports only a small percentage each season.

Croatia has long been a holiday destination for many and a few years back it burst onto the superyacht scene. With over a thousand islands creeping up the Adriatic coast, it isn’t hard to see why.

The 61.3m (201.1ft) CRN Ancona motor yacht KATHARINE has strong links with Croatia and indeed its vineyards. Her owners first visited the country back in the days of civil unrest on a humanitarian mission; they simply fell in love with the country and decided to settle. They bought a plot of land a few hours up the coast from Dubrovnik and turned it into Korta Katarina, a luxury vineyard, hotel and villa. Today, they invite guests to come and spend a day in the company of their master winemakers, take a tour of the region and simply enjoy the fine wine they produce.

Ivo Cibilić, sales manager at Korta Katarina is passionate about the country’s production, “Croatian wines are unique because most of them are produced from unknown but great autochthonous varieties. That is something that wine lovers are looking for today - different taste and premium quality. He continues, “these wines have strong terroir character and will always remind you of being on vacation in beautiful Croatia.”

This summer, KATHARINE still has availability for a charter to Korta Katarina and around the stunning Croatian islands and coast. Captain Mike O’Neill has worked on board KATHARINE for many years and offers some fantastic itineraries.
