Crew Photographer and Videographer of the Year 2019

Burgess calls all budding crew photographers and videographers to capture ‘Experience, Exploration, and Expertise' (can be one or more of these themes) in a bid to be crowned Crew Photographer or Videographer of the Year 2019.

Whether you have just started or have been camera-happy for years, Burgess challenges you to submit your best shot and / or video. There will be a winner and a runner-up each for the Photo and Video categories. The winners and runners-up will receive a fantastic prize (worth up to GBP 1,000) and will have their work featured across Burgess channels both on and offline.

This year's theme is ‘Experience, Exploration, and Expertise'. Inspired by yachting experiences, we want to see your individual take on life at sea, and you can choose one or more of these themes.

Specifications for video:

  • Up to 50 seconds long
  • Aspect ratio should be 1:91:1
  • Max file size 15MB (if larger than 15MB, please include a download link via WeTransfer or similar)

The closing date for entries is 9 September 2019 with winners announced at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019. Winners will be notified via email, announced on the Burgess website and associated social media channels.

Judges are renowned experts within the superyacht world.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Entrants must be a current member of crew on board a superyacht
  • Must show life on board a superyacht as opposed to ‘crew life’, i.e. no crew parties, no nudity, no crew drinking etc.
  • No guests or owners to feature unless written permission has been gained
  • Must double-check with owner/captain to see whether interiors of the yacht can be displayed publicly
  • In videos, any background music must be royalty-free so that it can be used on our social channels. Suggested websites are:
  • Only entries that meet the Burgess competition criteria will be considered
  • Multiple entries are permitted (but one prize per person)
  • All entries submitted become the property of Burgess and reuse will be credited
  • All entries to be received in high-res format (or should be available in that format upon request)
  • All video entries will be bookended with Burgess branding when displayed on media channels
