Burgess is very pleased to announce the sale of the 33m (108.2ft) auxiliary sailing yacht MARAE with an asking price of USD 4,950,000.
MARAE was delivered in 2004 by the highly regarded New Zealand shipyard Alloy Yachts to interior and exterior designs by Ted Fontaine of Fontaine Design Group. Their collaboration secured for MARAE (then named PARAISO) the title of Best Sailing Yacht 23-36m at the International Superyacht Design Award in 2004.
This pilothouse Bermudan sloop has impeccable pedigree. Her hull design was perfected over 20 years of tank testing by Fontaine and the renowned Ted Hood for the optimum combination of low wetted surface area and high internal volume. Her carbon rig reduces pitching, increasing comfort underway, and with her centreboard up she draws just 2.2m (7.1ft), opening up a world of secluded shoal draft possibilities.
On deck, her owner’s cabin has deck access to a private cockpit aft of the twin helm stations, with easy access to the transom’s folding bathing steps and platform. A spacious, covered pilothouse offers al fresco dining in shade and shelter along with excellent views, and leads down to a deck saloon with bar and lounge, which echoes her emphasis on tradition, craftsmanship, comfort and safety. This leads down to the main saloon with seating to port and formal dining to starboard.
She welcomes up to eight guests in one owner’s double cabin, complete with office and mini gym, a VIP double cabin and one twin cabin with two additional pullman berths known as the ‘children’s cabin.’ There is also accommodation for four crew.
