The 44.6m (146.5ft) GLADIATOR, the fourth yacht in the sought-after Feadship F45 Vantage series, has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and was constructed to Lloyd’s classification and MCA compliance by Feadship, Royal Van Lent. Her exterior design is by Feadship’s in-house team at De Voogt and her original Sinot interiors were reworked during a 2018 refit by the former owner’s team working with Michael Smith and Boutsen Design.

Since 2021, the owner has invested millions of euros in technical and cosmetic improvements. These include a full repaint, a host of bridge upgrades including 4G and VSAT, state-of-the-art new AVIT equipment, full main engine rebuilds, stabiliser system overhaul, engine room and galley upgrades too numerous to mention, new jacuzzi, carpets, cushions, awnings and more. The success of the F45 Vantage series is in no small part due to her owner and guest accommodation, all of which is on the main deck, excluding an optional sixth guest cabin on the bridge deck. A full-beam owner’s suite has large skylights above the bed and en suite, all guest cabins have near full-height picture windows and the four guest suites are all convertible. Great sightlines are characteristic throughout this yacht.

Another key to the series’ popularity is the focus on natural light and indoor-outdoor living. Huge windows throughout are part of that, especially the opening windows in the sky lounge that, together with the full-height sliding glass doors aft, opens the space on three sides. Outside there is open-air dining beneath the overhang, with a buffet bar and sun lounge aft.

The sun deck has a jacuzzi surrounded by sunpads, buffet bar and exercise space forward, lounge seating beneath the hardtop, which has a fold-down TV for movie nights, and a sun lounge aft. There is also a large skylight to illuminate the stairwell below. The main deck aft has lounge seating aft and, with the transom door lowered to become a huge swim platform, steps lead down to a large beach club, complete with gym equipment and dayhead.

Twin 1,055hp MTU diesel engines give her a top speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and transatlantic range of 4,500nm at her passage speed of 10 knots. Naiad fin stabilisers provide comfort underway and at anchor and she has a host of new toys, from jetskis and fliteboards to a 12m inflatable waterslide.
