Social Media Junior, London

We are seeking a highly self-motivated, creative and outgoing individual for our London based Marketing department. The individual needs to have an in depth understanding, experience and passion for Social Media. The right candidate will be responsible for copywriting for different target audiences and defining the social media content strategy across multiple platforms to encourage engagement by followers and fans. Reporting directly into the Marketing Director and Digital Marketing Manager.

Job Requirements

Main job responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the worldwide offices social media and liaising with different departments on a daily basis to source new stories and articles to publish.
  • Daily management of all social media accounts such as; Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google+, YouTube and Hootsuite.
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
  • Oversee and/or assist properties with publishing and sharing of daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.
  • Carrying out competitor research, keeping up to date with social & content trends and applying learnings to day-to day activity.
  • Awareness of the social media landscape and being proactive in recommending and leading new initiatives/opportunities to drive direct bookings.
  • Writing compelling content and campaign ideas in support and influencing overall social media strategy.
  • Researching, identifying and setting up pages on relevant new social media platforms.
  • Apply social media best practice – from handles to hashtags plus meta tags to increase traffic.
  • Copywriting for different target audiences across multiple social media platforms.
  • Ensuring all written content falls in line with the company’s brand guidelines and public image.
  • Working with internal and external partners to increase website traffic, achieving increased and consistent growth in direct contact and leads.
  • Increasing social media following and engagement metrics across all channels.
  • Personal Criteria

    The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following personal qualities:

    Essential:

  • University degree within social media or working experience in the same field with a min of 1-2 years social media experience.
  • Passion for travel and a creative flair is a must!
  • Ability to demonstrate social networking platform experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communications skills.
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development and SEO.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Self-starter, driven with the desire to provide the best outcome.
  • Solutions-driven with the ability to manage project, organise and prioritise.
  • Flexible approach to job requirements and demands.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • Ability to operate under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Creative interest in marketing with the ability to confidently brainstorm campaign ideas.
  • Judgement – ability to know how to act independently.
  • Excellent team player and interpersonal skills.
  • Report directly into the Marketing Director and Digital Marketing Manager.

    Yacht Marketing Manager, Miami

    The Burgess Brokerage department is in search of a new Yacht Marketing Manager to join them in the Miami office.

    Duties

  • Working with the Lead Broker, prepare and create a Central Agency (CA) proposal and Marketing Strategy (as required) when pitching for new yachts. Ensure all documentation is in place for all new signings
  • Launch a new CA yacht to market and, when required, travel to the yacht to ensure all sales material, specifications, images and inventory are in place and correct
  • Working with the Lead Broker, establish and manage the relationship with the Captain and where appropriate the owner and or owners’ rep
  • Effectively manage the marketing campaign and assist with the collation of the contractual documentation at the point of sale
  • Assist the Lead Broker in the creation of consistent client sales updates and information
  • Manage first line of enquiries for each yacht and coordinate inspections
  • As part of the ongoing marketing campaign introduce clients to the full range of Burgess Yacht Services including Charter Management and Direct, Operational Management and technical services
  • Ensure all yacht details are fully up to date and consistent across all sales platforms such as YATCO, Yachtworld and CRM
  • Working with the Brokerage Sales and Marketing Manager, co-ordinate all advertising campaigns for your allocated CA Yachts
  • Working alongside the Marketing Department take responsibility for the participation of your allocated CA yachts at Boat Shows, Broker Open days and bespoke events
  • Coordinate all sales and marketing material for your allocated CA yachts across multiple platforms including print media, digital media, social media and online
  • Assist Marketing in the creation of content for:

    • Burgess Bulletin
    • The Edge (Bi Annual) and Sales Updates (Quarterly)
    • B2B Industry Monthly Circular
    • In-house broker ‘inside information’ guide
    • Burgess Superyacht Living & Style Magazine (annual publication)
    • Ad hoc marketing initiatives

    Yacht Manager, Miami

    Reporting to the Management Department Director you will take responsibility for your fleet of vessels as the primary point of contact. You will work closely with the specialists in the management team who will support you in the functions which require their area of expertise. and will help you achieve the following:-

    Duties

  • Provide the principal point of contact for the vessel Crew/Owner
  • Operational Management of a fleet of vessels
  • Technical Management with the support of the Technical Management team
  • Crew Management with the support of the Crew Manager
  • Certification (Statutory and Class) and Insurance (working closely with Burgess Yachts Financial Services)
  • Accounts and Finance (review invoices, submit fund requests to Owners etc.) with the support of the Accounts team
  • Safety Management/ISM with the support of the Safety & Security Manager
  • Security Management/ISPS with the support of the Safety & Security Manager
  • Participation in the Emergency Response Team if required
  • Prepare Monthly Management Reports
  • Assisting to obtain new management business and cross-selling all Burgess services
  • Any other task reasonably requested
  • The successful candidate will have the following attributes:--

  • Sea-going experience in a senior position with the appropriate qualification for this position;
  • Previous yacht management experience will be beneficial;
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels (dealing with Owners, Captains and colleagues);
  • Effective problem solving and multi-tasking abilities;
  • Sound knowledge of ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, MLC & STCW. Previous auditing experience will be beneficial;
  • Technical knowledge of large yachts and their operation
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Proficiency in other languages will be beneficial;
  • Live within commuting distance of Miami and be eligible to work in the USA;
  • Good sense of humour.

    Deckhand - 75m Motor Yacht

    We require an experienced deckhand for a 75m charter MY currently based in the Indian Ocean.

    The suitable candidate must have at least three seasons experience, be an excellent tender driver, have a strong water sports background and hold up to date STCW, ENG1, Proficiency in Designated Security Duties and Powerboat Level 2 certificates. A Yachtmaster or Yacht/Deck Rating are also desirable.
