Crispin is a Senior Sales Broker specialising in the sale, purchase and new construction of large superyachts. British born and an avid sailor, he’s lived in Berlin, Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore and New York. He currently operates between the Burgess offices in New York and Athens, where he became a founding member of the Hellenic Yacht Masters Club. He made Partner at Burgess in 2022.
Prior to joining Burgess in 2007, Crispin spent a decade selling professional services for large corporate firms, including Credit Suisse and KPMG, honing his techniques in sales, commercial negotiations and contract evaluation. He combines that today with more than 18 years’ yachting knowledge and a clear appreciation for the cultural nuances that are unique to the superyacht industry.
Following 20 years spent living in the US and with a solid commitment to building the Burgess American sales fleet, Crispin has assisted Burgess in becoming the largest exhibitor at both the Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach international boat shows. His industry success is also reflected in his sales record to date, which sees the American market account for around 60% of Crispin’s transactions, with the remaining 40% made up by Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pac, Canada and South America.
'Being a Burgess sales broker is a unique job because we have such remarkable clients,’ he says. 'I love the variety of people, the travel that is required for my role and I truly enjoy helping clients through the entire sales process. Our clients are highly informed and successful people and for me it’s all about knowing how to listen to them.’
A key strength is his success in converting charter clients to yacht ownership, underpinned by his collaborative relationship with Burgess’ top charter brokers. He relishes opportunities to secure new business and client acquisitions, deriving job satisfaction from building long and meaningful professional relationships with his clients and industry partners alike.
As a Partner in the firm, Crispin actively participates in Burgess’ mentoring scheme, sits on the ESG board and runs the Burgess Culture Deck, which encapsulates the values and DNA of the company. Crispin also founded Happy World, an in-house philanthropic programme that sends Burgess volunteers to assist with disaster relief around the world. The first mission in 2022 to the Philippines helped rebuild schoolhouses following a devastating typhoon, in 2023 Crispin sent a team to Krakow in Poland to assist with displaced people from Ukraine and in 2024 he sent a team to Hawaii to help rebuild local communities devastated by wildfires.
