Born and raised in Cumbria, England, Jon spent the early years of his career as a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Signals, British Army, working with military communications assets for six years. In 2016 he migrated to the United States, transitioning into project and operations management in multiple industries. After moving to Hawaii in 2021, he was able to explore his passion for the water by working on day charters around the Hawaiian Islands.

This move led to his entrance into yachting in 2022, working on multiple private and charter motor yachts ranging up to 86m in length. By far his favourite was an explorer yacht working charters in the Arctic and skippering the chase boat. After deciding to move ashore in late 2024, Jon was drawn to charter management to leverage his extensive operational background with first-hand exposure of charters, drawing on his transferable operational, planning and logistical skills, alongside key relationship building and customer service experience, to aid his success.

Jon joined Burgess in January 2025, where he currently manages eight yachts spanning 34-65m. This includes the 65m Heesen ILLUSION which has been a member of the Burgess fleet since 2019. 'Joining Burgess was a big milestone for me to see the industry from another perspective,' he describes. 'Since moving ashore, I really like sitting down with an owner, understanding their vision for their program, and helping them implement it. I also love boat shows as they relate you back to the product in the best possible way and allow you to spend quality time with the Captain and Crew, which helps you sell the charter programme.'

In his spare time, Jon enjoys team sports, especially soccer, and anything on or in the water.
