Tash brings a wealth of first-hand yachting experience to her role, combining operational expertise with a strategic mindset to optimise yacht management services at Burgess. She joined the company in 2022 as Yacht Management Department Coordinator after 15 years at sea, cruising worldwide on private and charter yachts. Her deep understanding of on board operations, logistics, and owner expectations enables her to develop and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
In her current role as Head of Yacht Management Business Operations, Tash has played a pivotal role in the expansion and evolution of Burgess’ Yacht Management division, driving efficiency, innovation, and growth across the company. Over the last few years, she has helped shape the business side of yacht management, streamlining processes, enhancing interdepartmental collaboration, and implementing new tools to optimise daily operations.
A champion of efficiency, Tash has been central to integrating new digital tools ensuring seamless communication across Burgess’ 360-degree service offering. One of her proudest achievements is her work on the Owner’s Area which rolls out to the full fleet this year. Reflecting the industry’s shift toward instant, transparent reporting, this tool gives owners real-time access to essential yacht data at their fingertips – invaluable in today’s market.
For Tash, the success of yacht management isn’t about simply growing bigger – it’s about becoming smarter. She takes a solutions-focused approach, working closely with all teams across Burgess – including brokerage, charter, and insurance – to keep all departments aligned. From new build pitches to Burgess managed yachts, Tash makes sure every individual has what they need to ensure the highest standard of service, elevating the client experience while remaining cost effective for the business.
‘It’s exciting to see Burgess evolve beyond traditional revenue streams like brokerage and truly invest in the support functions that underpin yacht ownership,’ she says. ‘My role is about ensuring the highest standard of service while maintaining cost-effectiveness and, above all, making sure our teams have the tools and processes they need to work together seamlessly. That’s what drives results.’
Before yachting, Tash studied Physiotherapy, Physical Education, and Management at Otago University in New Zealand, building a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving. After leaving the sea, she spent time travelling through New Zealand and Australia before settling in London, where she now applies her experience to the complex demands of yacht ownership.
