Head of Technical Management
- Languages English
- Location 伦敦
Steve began his marine engineering career with the Royal Navy in 1990, earning a degree in Marine Systems Engineering through a joint programme between the Navy and the University of Portsmouth. Over nearly two decades of service, he undertook multiple operational tours, gaining deep technical expertise and first-hand experience in demanding, mission-critical environments.
In 2008, Steve transitioned ashore to join Shell/STASCo ship management. There, he assumed responsibility for critical spares strategies and the planned maintenance systems across a fleet of 25 Q-Max and Q-Flex LNG carriers – some of the largest of their kind in the world – while also achieving his Engineering Certificate of Competency.
Steve left Shell in 2013 where he served as Chief Engineer on a number of superyachts before stepping into a shoreside technical management role with Burgess in 2015-16. He went on to broaden his professional scope as an Engineering Surveyor, completing PUWER, LOLER, PSSR and COSHH statutory engineering surveys across a diverse range of assets. He rejoined Burgess in 2022 as a Technical Manager, bringing with him a blend of commercial, regulatory and practical engineering insight ideally suited to supporting yacht owners, captains and crew.
Outside of work, Steve volunteers as an observer with the Institute of Advanced Motorists, enjoys baking his own bread, and recently completed the COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate at Edinburgh College.
