With a brief from MARALA’s current owner to completely capture the essence of the 1930s while taking great care to preserve the heritage of the vessel, a spectacular and almost totally new interior has been painstakingly researched and exquisitely created. Just a few of the stand-out features are silk panel walls, straw parquetry, brass fittings, crystal chandeliers and an ornate fireplace in the truly palatial man deck lounge. She also has modern air conditioning and wi-fi internet connectivity, of course.
MARALA offers a vast amount of living space, inside and out. There’s an ample choice of large social spaces in both sun and shade on her acres of exterior decks, and also plenty of intimate nooks for private relaxation. There are ] touches of contemporary luxury too, like the jacuzzi plunge pool on her upper aft deck.
The master suite is an incredible recreation of Belle-Epoque glamour, located at the forward end of the upper deck with a huge, luxurious en suite bathroom, plenty of natural light and excellent views of the sea. The other guest cabins are four opulent doubles and one twin, each individually styled and with its own private en suite bathroom.
She carries two large tenders, one classic and one modern, plus a traditional sailing/rowing dinghy and a range of the latest watersports kit. From fliteboards, wakeboards, paddleboards, a kayak and a canoe to a wide choice of inflatable tows, she comes fully loaded with toys.
Few classic yachts can match MARALA’s extraordinary history, the long list of world famous names who have spent time on board or the stories she has to tell. Owned by industrialists, leading entrepreneurs and European royalty, active service in World War Two (she sank a U-Boat), chartered by Frank Sinatra, featured in at least one Hollywood film… this is a very special yacht indeed.
