The maths is very simple. If you cruise at 20 knots, you can cover twice as much ocean and take in twice as many ports as you could cruising at 10 knots. For 30 knots it’s a multiple of three
Another advantage of performance yachts is that their fast, planing hulls generally have very shallow draft of less than 2m (6.6ft). That means you can access those special, hidden-away ports and anchorages that larger yachts with deeper drafts simply can’t visit.
