Description
HAMPSHIRE is a 66.3m (217.4ft) superyacht built by Feadship, Royal Van Lent, to Harrison Eidsgaard-designed interiors and exteriors with naval architecture by De Voogt. This exceptionally gifted Northern European team has created a yacht that transcends the modern understanding of inside-outside living. Harrison Eidsgaard has delivered a family yacht that retains an intimate connection to the water, one that welcomes from water level whether swimming or arriving by tender.
The most obvious of the many design and engineering devices used to achieve this is the 12m-long hull shell door aft on the lower deck starboard side, which creates 33sq m (355sq ft) of sea-level teak terracing when lowered. A slightly smaller shell door on the port side conceals a 8.5m (28ft) tender. From her fixed swim platform, you climb the wide central steps to a mid-deck sun lounge, then up steps either side to main deck aft seating around a skylight table, or walk forward into a bright, open, welcoming, sea-level living area with beach club, sauna, hair salon and massage room.
On the sun deck there is an alfresco dining area, one of three on board, and a covered gym. Forward of the superstructure is a lounge area with a sunken bar at table height and a glass-screened jacuzzi flanked by sun pads. The aft sun deck is also a second helipad where the aircraft is stored on long passages, while the main helipad is on the foredeck.
She has tremendous volume for a yacht of her size, 1,481GT, divided into spaces that are larger rather than more plentiful and flooded with natural light by floor-to-ceiling windows in all living areas. Her interior design continues the theme of relaxation, openness and family warmth, contemporary with welcoming traditional touches that echo Art Deco: light, never intimidating.
She sleeps 14 guests in seven cabins, the choice of which is the full-beam owner's suite forward on the bridge deck, featuring his and hers bathrooms with contrasting marble features and a sitting room/study with a large slide-out private balcony. There is also a private snack pantry next to the elevator, a day head and a second, larger owner's saloon aft, leading onto a private sun lounge. The main deck has six cabins, four guest suites and two VIP suites that can be converted into a single full-beam suite. Guests are attended by 17 crew in nine cabins.
