Description

JOY is a 1,095GT yacht built in steel to Lloyd’s classification and MCA compliance and delivered in 2016 by legendary Dutch shipyard Feadship, Royal Van Lent. Her sculpted Bannenberg & Rowell exteriors and versatile Studio Indigo interiors favourably impressed judges at the World Superyacht Awards 2017 when she won the ‘Displacement Motor Yachts Between 500GT and 1,499GT’ category.

As an enormously popular charter yacht, she has all the features guests love including an elevator serving main to bridge decks. On the sun deck is a glass-fronted pool, bar and BBQ, seating and sunpads. The bridge deck is home to the yacht’s fully equipped gym and there are fold-down balconies either side, including one to port outside the owner’s office.

The owner’s deck has a bedroom suite forward with wraparound views through near full-height windows and a skylight above. There are his-and-hers dressing rooms and bathrooms, two double suites and an owner’s lounge aft with a winter garden to expand the space onto the terrace aft. Walkaround sidedecks lead forward to the yacht’s games deck.

The main deck has two double suites and a VIP suite forward with a main lounge aft of the lobby and another winter garden for inside-outside dining. On the aft deck there are club seats around a huge daybed beneath the overhang where guests can watch movies by night on a fold-down TV. A bar provides refreshments.

There’s a generously sized swim platform on the lower deck aft and the transom door raises to reveal a beach club with dayhead that also serves as a nightclub and a cinema, thanks to its video wall. Forward on the lower deck, just aft of the lobby, is a massage and treatment room with shower.

She welcomes up to 14 guests in seven cabins: three on the owner’s deck, three on the main deck and a further cabin on the lower deck. There is also accommodation for 19 crew.

Twin 1,850hp MTU diesel engines give her a top speed of 16 knots and she has transatlantic range of 4,500nm at her 12-knot cruising speed. Zero speed stabilisers ensure comfort and her two tenders, a 7.9m (25.9ft) Ribeye RIB and a 2.9m (9.5ft) Williams 285 Turbojet, stow behind shell doors forward on the main deck and a wide selection of toys.
