Description
PROJECT SECRET is a 52m (170.6ft) all-aluminium Vitruvius yacht of 499GT due for delivery by Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts in 2025. Philippe Briand’s streamlined, modernist exteriors are complemented by cool, contemporary interiors by Francesca Muzio’s Milan studio FM Architecttura.
More importantly, Briand’s super-efficient hull combines with a state-of-the-art, IMO Tier III-compliant hybrid parallel propulsion system to reduce vibration and emissions for a more refined guest experience. Also, compared to a conventional diesel yacht of similar size, fuel consumption is estimated to be up to 59 percent lower.
PROJECT SECRET challenges convention in many ways. Unlike most yachts in this size range, the dining room is not forward of the main saloon. It is water-side with a retractable electric panel that opens to create the full al fresco dining experience.
The beach club is also a gamechanger. There is a dip pool set into the vast swim platform, whose dimensions are exaggerated still further by folding bulwarks either side, creating sea terraces.
The sun deck features plenty of space to lounge in the sun or shade, as well as dip in the beautiful flush hydro pool with integrated loungers, which is located next to the curved sit-up wet bar.
On the bridge deck there are two open-air dining options: on the aft deck a circular table for 12 guests is shaded by the overhang, with a sky lounge bar for refreshment, and on the foredeck, there is a versatile lounge around two adjustable-height tables that serve as coffee tables or a huge sunpad as well as more casual al fresco dining.
Aft on the lower deck, overlooking the swim platform’s pool through sliding darkened glass doors, is a full-beam gym and wellness area, complete with infrared sauna.
The main deck features an architectural floating staircase and is designed for both indoor and outdoor living. Fully retractable, floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto the aft deck where there is a sit-up wet bar for entertaining and a large area with sunbeds and tables.
The sky lounge extends the entertainment capacity of the upper deck aft and it’s also a great place to watch movies and sports in air-conditioned comfort. She welcomes 12 guests in six cabins. The owner’s suite has a permanent private balcony behind sliding glass doors to let in the ocean air and light. It’s full beam with an office, walk-in wardrobe and his-and-hers en suite sharing a central shower room.
The lower deck features a full-beam VIP suite, as well as four additional guest suites, two double cabins and two twin cabins.
Twin 1,430hp MAN diesel engines combine with battery banks and electric motors to give her a top speed of 18 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a passage speed of 12 knots. This innovative setup also allows her to operate silently in hotel mode at anchor of up to 8.5 hours, further enhancing the guest experience.
