The 47.5m (155.9ft) ROLA has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure constructed to Lloyd’s classification. With sleek Walter Franchini exteriors and stylish Cristiano Gatto Design interiors, she was delivered by Italian shipyard ISA Yachts in 2006. MCA-compliant and currently a popular charter yacht, creating a revenue stream for the owner, this 498GT yacht was extensively refitted in 2015-16, had new generators fitted in 2019 and was refitted again in 2022.
Always relentlessly maintained and upgraded, this year’s works, undertaken with her five-year survey, included a W5 main engine overhaul, servicing of generators, AC system, zero speed stabilisers, both tenders and jet skis, and 48 new batteries installed. Externally she received a repaint of her hull and various other locations where new paint was required, new windows in the bridge and main deck, new exterior cushion covers and upgrades of all sprinkler heads.
An extensive sun deck has a sit-up wet bar forward and lounge areas port and starboard that would suit informal dining and occasional seating beneath the hardtop. Aft is a raised jacuzzi and a bank of sun pads. The upper deck aft has open-air dining with two buffet bars and lounge seating aft.
The main deck aft has another large lounge area and steps leading down to a large swim platform with the transom door opened. Side decks run forward to steps leading to the foredeck where there is water toy stowage and a deck crane for launching. There is a tender garage on the lower deck aft with shell doors either side that become sea terraces and barding platforms with the tender launched.
The contemporary main saloon, featuring cream fabrics, light and dark woods, is lined with large picture windows delivering views and plenty of natural light. Aft there are lounge areas port and starboard and forward is a sit-up bar. From the lobby stairs lead up to the upper deck where the sky lounge has two L-shaped lounges port and starboard aft and a gaming table.
She welcomes 11 guests in five cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite forward on the main deck, which has an office and dressing room as well as an en suite with his-and-hers basins, bath and shower room. Versatile accommodation continues on the lower deck with a full-beam VIP double suite with spa bath and shower room, a double suite, a convertible suite and a twin suite with an additional berth.
Twin 2,400hp MTU diesel engines give her a top speed of 16.8 knots and she has transatlantic range of 4,000nm at her passage speed of 12 knots.
