Some yachts make a compelling first impression. The 56m (183ft) GALILEO is one of them and she absolutely lives up to that initial promise. Bucking the trend for explorer yachts to look like tugboats and trawlers, her exterior lines are beautifully and delicately drawn. Designed to host 12 guests in five cabins, she is the picture of elegance when viewed from any angle and won a major design award when she was launched.

Make no mistake, though, she is an incredibly capable yacht with a 9,000-mile cruising range and an ice class hull. GALILEO can quite literally take you anywhere on the world’s oceans, with 11 crew at your service. She has already completed two circumnavigations, cruised Antarctica and is fully fitted out for adventure, with all the gear and facilities required for extreme diving and surfing expeditions, for example.

Seaworthy and efficient, with very low fuel consumption, she has a remarkably soft, easy motion in the water due to her low centre of gravity, and exceptionally low levels of noise and vibration. Her interior fit-out is exquisitely crafted, finished in fine mahogany and with a major refit in 2023 she is immaculate and pristine. This is an unusually comfortable yacht in all senses of the word.

Key features include vast expanses of exterior deck, a very large and cleverly configured open-air living space on the main deck aft, an exceptional master suite and the impressively equipped dive, surf and watersports centre in her stern, which opens up on two sides with a sea-level platform that folds out of her starboard quarter – and also houses a gym.

Up forward on the main deck, the full-beam master suite has a separate lounge and study leading into the owner’s cabin, plus a large walk-in dressing room and spacious en suite bathroom. The other four guest cabins – two doubles and two twins – are generously sized, finished to the same standard as the master suite and all located amidships on the lower deck.

GALILEO’s main guest tender is a 9.5m (31ft) jet RIB optimised for dive and surf expeditions, with a top speed of 35 knots. She carries two other jet RIBs, high-end jetskis, 12 new sets of top-of-the-range dive gear, plus a SeaBob, waterskis, wakeboards, paddleboards, canoes and more. This is where luxury meets adventure.
