With naval architecture by Bill Tripp and interior design by Rhoades Young, her sailing pedigree and quality of finish are second to none. She is an great choice of charter yacht for a bucket regatta and equally ideal for any sort of cruising holiday, with service from a crew of six.
One of SHARLOU’s best features is her sleek deck saloon with good views out in all directions from the stylish lounge and bar. The deckhouse opens out into a spacious, secure and extremely comfortable open-air passenger cockpit with ample seating, a large dining table and a sprayhood enclosure for shade and shelter that folds away almost invisibly into the coachroof when it isn’t required.
Moving aft, the mainsheet and its traveller are mounted on an arch above the twin helms – an excellent safety feature for guests traversing the sailing cockpit to reach the two double day beds and the aft deck, which is another large, separate and secure outdoor space with direct access to the master suite.
The headsail sheets and running backstays are also led to under-deck reel winches, so there are no highly loaded lines on deck unless you decide to fly the huge masthead gennaker, and nearly all sail trimming and manoeuvres can be done from the helm pedestals at the touch of a button.
Down below, the main interior spaces and guest cabins all have large double through-hull windows, giving a great view out. There’s a splendid lower saloon with partially separate lounge and dining areas, finished with exquisite joinery in a warm, clean contemporary style. The master suite is located aft with a study desk and armchair in the full-beam cabin, which is flooded with natural light from seven windows and three skylights. A private companionway leads straight up into the exterior aft cockpit, which gives the suite a dedicated outside deck space.
Few sailing yachts of this size can match the performance, luxury and style of SHARLOU. She really is world class.
