MOON SAND is a 44.2m (145ft) yacht meticulously built by Dutch masters Feadship, and delivered in 2015. Feadship's own De Voogt team sculpted the exterior and the renowned British studio Bannenberg and Rowell designed her interior, confirming her impeccable northern European credentials.
For a 44.2m yacht with a gross tonnage of 499 tonnes she has the outside spaces of a yacht 10m longer, and the emphasis is on versatility. The choicest example of this is the spacious main deck aft. At the push of a button, a large section of the deck forward of the lounge area lowers to reveal a main deck aft pool with contraflow jets - quite the party piece.
A huge sun deck has an observation lounge forward of a lounge area well suited to informal dining, and removable awnings offer shade. Aft is a sunbathing area and stowage for the 6.2m tender and rescue RIB while underway.
Steps to starboard lead down to a large bridge deck aft, with a lounge area aft beneath removable awnings and dining for 10 protected by screens either side. There is also a dedicated gym forward. The space is gloriously light with panoramic vistas through large mullion-free picture windows, a delightful characteristic throughout the yacht.
MOON SAND has only ever been lightly used by her owner so her twin 1,200hp Caterpillar diesel engines have low hours logged and been subject to a rigorous maintenance schedule. She has a maximum speed of 14.5kn and an ocean-crossing range of 3,600nm at her long-range cruising speed of 10kn.
