Spotlight on RAGNAR.

The 68.2m (223.8ft) apex explorer yacht RAGNAR offers her guests the adventure of a lifetime and absolute mastery of the elements by air, sea and land. Burgess Charter Manager Jane Angus explains why this is a genuinely unique addition to the Burgess charter fleet and the perfect choice for guests with an unquenchable thirst for adventure.

Fresh from a two year conversion from an all weather ice breaking multipurpose supply vessel into a superyacht packed with thrills, RAGNAR has emerged and is now available for charter by guests who crave experiences.

LY3 classed with arctic explorer capabilities, RAGNAR has full ice breaking functionality with a certified ICE Class A1 hull and unique ICE class PC5 rated electric driven ice pods. With a range of 6,000nm this yacht can go to the most remote areas of the planet.

'RAGNAR is 100 percent the real deal, an explorer to the core,' says Jane. 'The level of capability packed into this yacht is just extraordinary, there is nothing her guests can't do. There's a fully certified helipad to explore by air, massively increasing the range her guests can cover and making her a turnkey choice for heliskiing in the most remote parts of the world.

'Her toy garage is completely packed too, every possible box has been ticked on the superyacht toys list,' Jane adds. 'There are three powerful tenders for the wakeboards, waterskis and tows, two hydrofoil boards, jetskis, SeaBobs, windsurfing and kitesurfing, eight sets of scuba kit, fishing gear - the list is endless. There's even a BigBo, a five seat all terrain amphibious vehicle for swamp or dune bashing.

She also has four snowmobiles for guests who want to experience real wilderness, perfect for when she is in Antarctica in 2021/22. Her first winter she’s in the Caribbean and then will spend summer 2021 in the Med. She has a submersible available too, by separate arrangement, for exploring beneath the waves, giving guests a totally immersive perspective on marine life.'

Rugged she may be but rough and ready she most certainly is not. An exquisitely inventive interior by the RWD studio echoes the officers' mess in a ship of the line from Nelson's time, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance of adventure and discovery. 'This is RWD at their very best,' says Jane, 'fabulously creative, well researched with a positively microscopic attention to detail. It all comes together beautifully in the main lounge and dining room, which is almost like a film set.'

What you wouldn't have found on an 19th century warship is the top deck jacuzzi and lounge, the open air pool, the fully equipped gym and the cedar lined spa centre with massage room, sauna, steam room and foot spa. RAGNAR's guests will want for nothing. She welcomes 12 guests in six cabins, two of which are master suites so she's ideal for parties with two lead charterers.

RAGNAR is set to become a stellar player on the charter market offering experiences that other yachts simply can't. 'We know how busy she's going to be,' Jane concludes. 'Once you've tasted adventure with RAGNAR, nothing else comes close.'
