The 52m (170.6ft) ELYSIUM, delivered in 2001, has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure constructed to Lloyd’s classification and MCA compliance by Benetti. She has been exceptionally well maintained and upgraded, most recently with a full repaint in 2019, new generators in 2020 and 2021, and new teak on the sun deck in 2022.

Her original Zuretti interiors were replaced by Benetti at Lusben in 2011-12 with a Chritiano Gatto Design, when a climate-controlled sun deck gym was added and the bridge deck aft dining area was enclosed with sliding glass doors. The latter modification allowed the owner to replace the main deck formal dining area with a media lounge.

The sun deck has raised open-air dining and a chef station aft of the covered gym. Forward is a jacuzzi and raised touch-and-go helipad that also serves as a sun lounge and entertainment space.

On the bridge deck aft there is a sun lounge with two L-shaped banquettes outside the glass-enclosed dining room. On the main deck aft there is a second open-air dining option and steps to port lead down to a large swim platform that deploys when the transom door folds down to reveal the yacht’s Castoldi Jet Tender 23. The tender garage also has a dive compressor and a dayhead.

From the main deck aft sidedecks lead forward to steps that take you up to a semi-circular Portuguese bridge. From there steps lead down to a foredeck where the yacht’s two crew tenders are stowed, launched by a deck crane.

The sky lounge has cream-panelled walls and lounge seating either side leaving a passage through to the indoor-outdoor circular dining table aft. Forward to port there is a dayhead and the pantry entrance.

Stairs lead down to the main lobby, off which there is a dayhead. Forward in the main saloon there is U-shaped seating facing a large bulkhead-mounted TV and aft there is lounge seating.

ELYSIUM welcomes 14 guests in six cabins. Forward of the lobby is the owner’s suite, entered through a study then into a full-beam bedroom suite. His-and-hers bathrooms have a bath to port and a steam shower to starboard with a walk-in wardrobe between the two.

On the lower deck there are two twin cabins forward, each with a pullman, and two slightly larger double cabins aft, all en suite and with plenty of natural light through hull ports. Up on the bridge deck there is a VIP suite with excellent views through large picture windows.

Twin 1,575hp Caterpillar diesel engines give her a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and transatlantic range of 6,000nm. Zero speed stabilisers ensure comfort on arrival.
