Description

LA SIRENA is a 43m (141.1ft) full custom motor yacht constructed in fibreglass to ABS classification by the Christensen shipyard and delivered in 2000. Her last major refit was in 2013. More recent works include bottom paint in 2019, all new electronics in 2018, and new hull and superstructure paint in 2017.

Key features include classic exterior styling, a raised pilothouse, a split level sun deck and a fully enclosed main deck aft lounge with opening windows. The large platform inset into her stern is effectively an additional, sea level cockpit with chairs around an oval mahogany table. There’s also a spacious and comfortable open air seating area on the foredeck. One more notable feature, designed to maximise interior space, is a walkthrough sidedeck to starboard only, with full beam superstructure to port.

Her sun deck has a hardtop section upfront with a flybridge helm and two wing stations beneath, an arch amidships and awnings between. There’s a full bar and galley, a jacuzzi amidships and a boat deck with a 4,000lb crane aft.

Her interior space adds up to 360GT, on two main levels. She is fitted out in Honduran mahogany throughout, with some fine carpentry and touches of granite and marble. She is configured to host eight guests in four cabins with separate quarters for a crew of six.

A standout feature of her interior, located in the main saloon, is the finely crafted inlaid marble compass rose set into the sole, which rotates at the touch of a button – this was installed as a platform for a baby grand piano when the yacht was owned by the country music star Jimmy Dean. Up forward in the saloon are the formal dining and bar areas. Forward of the saloon is the galley, which is designed for guest use as well as professional catering and has an eight-seater dinette. The enclosed main deck aft lounge significantly enlarges the saloon with further lounge and dining areas.

All of the guest accommodation is on the lower deck. The huge full beam owner’s suite is aft with his and hers bathrooms en suite, study and lounge areas. There are three further double cabins, all en suite. The crew’s quarters, including a very large captain’s cabin, are in the bow with separate access via the galley.

Twin 1,800hp MTU 16V 2000 diesels give a top speed of 19 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and she has a maximum range of 4,000nm. Naiad stabilisers are fitted.
