Description

Inspired and informed by the minimalist school of modern architecture, the Mangusta Oceano 39 is a 128ft (39m) model with tri-deck accommodation. She’s built by Overmarine Group with a single-skin composite hull and carbon fibre superstructure. Her contemporary exterior styling and interior design are by Alberto Mancini in collaboration with Overmarine’s in-house design team.

The vast swathes of glass in the flanks of her superstructure are the Oceano 39’s defining feature. Fully glazed bulwarks on two levels give floor-to-ceiling views out from the main saloon and upper lounge while letting in the maximum amount of natural light. Also of note are her elegant beach club design and the infinity pool on her forward coachroof.

The sundeck has a glass jacuzzi pool up front, day beds, bar and lounge amidships under a hardtop, and open-air space for sun loungers aft. The upper deck level has full walk-around decks linking the outdoor guest zones fore and aft. The Portuguese bridge on the forward coachroof has built-in seats and sunpads as well as the pool, while the aft deck features a dining area under the sundeck overhang and open-air lounge aft. The main deck aft cockpit is a partially shaded lounge with companionways running forward outside the saloon to amidships.

Her interior volume adds up to 299GT and her standard arrangement is designed to host up to 12 guests in five cabins with separate quarters for a maximum of seven crew. On the upper deck level there’s a captain’s cabin tucked behind the wheelhouse and a lounge, fully glazed on three sides, with space for a TV lounge alongside a games or dining table as well as a bar. The main saloon is open plan and conventionally laid out with a bar aft, plenty of sofas and a dedicated dining area. The galley is forward, to port, opposite the main lobby.

The full-beam owner’s suite is up front on the main deck with a huge walk-in wardrobe, vanity or study area, spacious bathroom and pop-out balcony. Two VIP doubles and two twin cabins are amidships on the lower deck.

Two propulsion packages are offered with twin MTU diesels driving fixed pitch propellers. 12V 2000 M86 engines with a combined 3,400hp (2,536kW), deliver a top speed of about 16kts and cruising speed of 12kts. Alternatively, 16V 2000 M96 engines with a combined 5,200hp (3,878kW) can boost her top speed to around 21kts and cruising speed to 18kts. Zero speed/under way stabilisers are fitted.
