ZENJI Sailing yacht for sale

ZENJI is a 56m (183.7ft) cruising ketch with an aluminium hull and superstructure, a variable draft of 4m (13ft) with the lifting keel up and 9.7m (31.8ft) down, and displacement of 520 tonnes. She was built in 2004 by Perini Navi to ABS classification and is MCA compliant. Exterior and interior design are by Perini Navi, with naval architecture by Ron Holland. Her last ABS class survey was in 2019, when she also had new generators fitted and a full repaint.

Standout exterior features include the large sun deck which has a soft-top flybridge forward with dual helm stations, guest seating amidships, and a jacuzzi and sunpads aft. Down on the main deck there’s a great expanse of laid teak stretching from bow to stern. The long overhang of the sun deck provides ample shade for the large aft cockpit, which is configured as a large outdoor dining area and lounge. A hydraulic shell door concealed in her port quarter folds down to create a swim platform.

With 499GT of interior volume and a maximum beam of 11.5m (37.7ft), her large interior spaces can accommodate 12 guests (owner included) in grand style, plus a full crew of nine in cruising mode. Throughout the interior, a design scheme featuring satin finished cherry wood joinery gives a warm and inviting, yet smart and classical feel.

The master suite has a king sized island berth, desk, spacious lounge area, huge walk in closet and marble bathroom with twin sinks, bath and shower. There are five further guest cabins – two double and three twin cabins – all en suite. Two of these cabins have an extra pullman berth.

Her rig, made in house by Perini Navi, consists of a 59.1m (194ft) above DWL mainmast and 48.3m (158.5ft) mizzen mast, both aluminium, with and fully battened sails. Her mainmast is cutter-rigged with a masthead genoa and fractional staysail. The electric sail control systems – including headsail furlers, in-boom reefing and 13 captive winches – were also custom made by Perini Navi. She has a total sail area of 1,492sqm (16,060sqft) and a full suit of North Sails from 2014.

She’s a twin-engined vessel with 1,239hp Deutz diesel engines giving a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots, with a range under power of around 3,700nm. Two 6.4m tenders stow in purpose-built bays beneath the flush foredeck – a custom feature that gives this yacht a unique, subtly distinctive sheer.
