Sold: 1979

Originally delivered in 1978, MAJESTIC M was an extraordinary sale at the time – not just for her impressive size, but for what she represented: the grandeur of a bygone era reimagined for a new generation. Her De Vries Lentsch exterior captured the romance of classic yachting, while her interiors, originally by Bannenberg and restyled in 2004 by Dimitri Koutoukos, offered timeless elegance. With accommodation for up to 16 guests, including a main deck master suite with private office and a sun deck VIP suite, she was – and remains – an exceptional vessel.

Sold in 1979 to a Middle Eastern family, this was one of the world’s largest yachts at the time. She was later renamed MIDNIGHT SAGA and today sails as MESERRET II – on the market again with Burgess.

Sold: 2017

Built by Norwegian shipyard Kleven, ULYSSES (now ANDROMEDA) was one of the first superyachts to bridge the world of commercial shipbuilding and luxury yachting. Her steel-hulled strength and long-range expedition capabilities made her an outlier – and a trailblazer – in the market.

In 2017, Burgess represented both buyer and seller in a deal that helped create an entirely new niche in brokerage: the extreme-class explorer yacht. ULYSSES proved that rugged could be refined, and that superyachts could go far beyond the Riviera.

Sold: 2018

JUBILEE was more than a yacht – it was a legacy project. Burgess was involved from inception, managing the build and later overseeing a significant refit. Four years into the construction and one year before delivery, the original client sadly passed away, and the family chose to sell the vessel.

In 2018, Burgess facilitated the sale – its largest ever in-house brokerage deal. Not only did we handle the initial contract, we sold her as an existing vessel and continue to manage her operations today. The yacht, now known as KAOS, remains one of the most recognisable and iconic superyachts afloat.

Sold: 2019, 2023

When GIGIA joined the Burgess portfolio, she instantly stood out for her elegance, privacy and family-focused design. Built by Lürssen in 2017, her appeal lies in her balance – between wellness and fun, glamour and comfort. She offers a private deck for the principal with jacuzzi, a full beach club and swim platform, spa, salon and even a helipad.

Sold in-house first in 2019 and then again in 2023, today GIGIA is available for charter exclusively with Burgess. Her presence as one of the jewels of our fleet is a testament to the strength of our end-to-end service – from sale to successful charter – and the continued trust placed in us by her owners.

The story of ALVIA exemplifies the full-service capability of Burgess. Our Brokerage team advised the buyer on the commercial complexities of the purchase back in 2019. From there, our Technical Services team managed the build process in partnership with the owner’s representatives and world-class designers, overseeing everything from pre-contract specification to sea trials. Crew Services sourced the perfect crew, and Yacht Management continues to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

Delivered in 2024 and featuring a 6.4m pool, a foredeck sports court, balconies off the owner’s deck, and a wellness centre with sea terrace, ALVIA is proof of what’s possible when every Burgess team works as one.
