A good example of the popular and versatile Westport 112, NO SHORTCUTS is a 2006 model with various upgrades and special features. A 34.1m (112ft) semi-custom yacht built in fibreglass with full beam superstructure designed to maximise her main-deck accommodation, she has a generous interior volume for her size of around 149GT. Naval architecture, exterior styling and interior design are all by Westport’s in house team.

Up top, there’s a hardtop flybridge with full helm controls, a bar and dining area plus a large boat deck aft with a launching crane, jacuzzi and additional seating. The long aft overhang of the upper deck creates a well shaded cockpit below, with high coamings surrounding U-shaped banquette seating and lounge chairs around a handsome hardwood table. On the foredeck there’s a Portuguese bridge inset in the rise of the coachroof.

Inside, there’s a raised bridge on the upper deck with observation lounge seating aft of the bridge. On the main deck, the full beam, open plan saloon and dining area is the focal point of the accommodation. Further forward, the large galley has a dinette for informal meals. Throughout the yacht, the interior design scheme is resolutely classic with high gloss varnished cherry woodwork, granite counters and high quality wool carpets.

The master cabin is a spacious full beam suite located forward on the main deck with en suite. There are three further guest cabins down below, also en suite, plus separate quarters for the captain and crew.

Storing the 18ft tender and toys up on the boat deck allows space for an elegant stern with two broad flights of steps leading up from the swim platform either side of a discreet lazarette with a watertight door leading into the yacht’s technical spaces and main engine room.

Performance is a strong suit for this model, which has a usefully shallow draught of 1.7m (5ft) and a high-performance semi displacement hull form. Twin MTU diesels with a combined output of more than 4,000hp give a top speed of around 21 knots and she cruises at 15 knots.
