The 29m (95.2ft) Solent-rigged sloop PATEA, a RINA-classed 90GT composite yacht delivered by Alia Yachts in 2012 and refitted in 2021, showcases a remarkable blend of performance, luxury, and innovative design. PATEA’s deck layout is designed with both leisure and sailing efficiency in mind. The line-free guest cockpit, shaded by an extended coachroof with skylights, offers open-air dining for 8-10 guests at anchor and a safe space to enjoy sailing underway. The area also features a 32-inch pop-up TV for movie nights under the stars. Aft, the elevated helm stations provide excellent steering positions with push-button sail-handling controls for easy navigation. The aft deck includes versatile bench seating that can be used as a sun lounge, a triple sunpad, and a second al fresco dining option. The transom folds down to create a large swim platform with a bathing ladder, perfect for water activities.
Inside, PATEA offers a spacious deck salon with 360-degree views through large picture windows and deckhead skylights. The interior features satin-finished light oak floors and American walnut cabinetry, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The salon can be arranged as a full lounge area or a dining room, with an internal helm station that doubles as a bar. Below deck, she sleeps up to eight guests in four cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite, a double cabin, a convertible cabin, and an additional en-suite cabin that can also serve as a TV lounge. The thoughtful configuration ensures optimal privacy and functionality, with separate crew and guest areas.
PATEA’s sailing capabilities are enhanced by her Southern Spars carbon spars and state-of-the-art sail handling systems, including in-boom mainsail furling and an asymmetric masthead spinnaker. She is powered by a single 435hp Volvo Penta diesel engine, achieving a top speed of 12 knots and an impressive range of 2,200nm at a cruising speed of 10 knots. Her fin keel with a 3.7m (12ft) draft optimizes performance while allowing access to shallow anchorages. The yacht’s modern and sustainable design includes up-to-date machinery with hydraulic and DC motors, supplemented by solar panels on the coach roof for additional green energy.
