Description

TAWERA is a pedigree ketch designed by Ron Holland and built by Alloy Yachts in 1995. She was last refitted in 2017, including a full rig removal and service, full set of North 3Di sails, electrical systems, mizzen mast and boom.

This exceptional sailing yacht has a reputation both for racing and cruising. In March 2021 she demonstrated her racing prowess once more by winning the Mastercard Superyacht Regatta. She is also the winner of the Millennium Cup in New Zealand in 2015 and 2016.

For all her racing credentials, TAWERA is most at home as a luxury family yacht. Though she loves sailing, in a flat calm she has a range of 2,500nm at a cruising speed of 9 knots, making her ideal for long-distance passages. Her top speed under power is 10.5 knots. Her current owner has logged 12,000nm in the past two and half years.

On deck, the wide teak foredeck and well-sorted aft decks are natural places to sit or sunbathe, as is the cockpit with built-in seating on either side next to the helm. When underway or at anchor, the deck is a relaxed and comfortable space to spend time.

Two saloons offer further living spaces. The deck saloon has sofa-banquette seating and informal dining area that can be converted from a full-sized table to a low coffee table. Take three steps down to the lower saloon to a larger dining table with a wine rack, cocktail cabinet and library bookshelves.

Below decks TAWERA has cabins laid out for six guests. The owner’s cabin stretches the full width of the hull for optimum comfort, especially when considered with the 1.9m (6.2 ft) headroom. Interior designed by Peter Sijm, each of her three suites feature luxury finishes, excellent light and clever storage. The owner’s suite includes a sofa, dressing table and mirrored wardrobe doors.

This pristine yacht is a thing of beauty, offering a unique sailing experience whether cruising or racing.
