Silvia joined Burgess in June 2025. Originally from Michigan, she now calls Miami home. With a Colombian mother and Midwestern roots, she was raised near the Great Lakes, spending summers boating, tubing and enjoying life on the water.

Silvia studied marketing and business at Grand Valley State University before moving to Florida, where she earned her Florida real estate license and began working in Miami’s vibrant property market as a real estate agent. She also managed luxury Airbnb properties for a startup, combining hospitality, design and attention to detail.

At Burgess, Silvia helps manage 12 yachts including one in build: ‘It’s exciting to manage a yacht as she’s coming to life, seeing the early blueprints, learning about the creative process and why the owner chose the name he did.’ Among the other yachts in her fleet, the vessels span 40m to over 90m, including long-standing Burgess member INVICTUS which joined the charter fleet in 2013.

Asked for one of her biggest career highlights, Silvia points to how much she’s learned since joining Burgess. ‘I started with very little knowledge of the yachting industry, and it’s been rewarding to learn the terminology and understand everything that goes into organising a charter. Boat shows have been brilliant for this, allowing me to step on board different yachts, meet the crew and my colleagues from across the globe, and experience the industry firsthand.’

Outside of work, Silvia loves the beach, volleyball, golden retrievers, music, road trips, homemade açaí bowls, wakeboarding and cheering on the Detroit Lions.
