The EXUMA from Maiora is a 35-metre (115ft) fast planing motor yacht with a deep-vee hull form, designed for the private owner who likes to do some of the driving themself. She’s effectively a tri-deck vessel with a convertible inside/outside space up top. Her construction is kevlar/carbon reinforced GRP composite and the design includes some notable features, including two full-function helm stations at the forward ends of the main and upper decks. As suggested by her model name, the Exuma has notably shallow full-load draught of less than 1.4m (4.5ft) which is ideal for exploring shallow cruising grounds such as the Bahamas.
Description
Exterior spaces include a very large Portuguese bridge on the forward coachroof, a spacious upper aft deck and an impressive flight of curved, illuminated full-beam steps leading up from the bathing platform to the lower aft deck, which is configured for al fresco dining. She also has great swathes of floor-to-ceiling glass in the sides of her superstructure but the stand-out feature is the convertible top deck, whose front and side windows and full-beam rear doors transform a fully enclosed skylounge into an almost completely open sundeck, with a very large opening sunroof in the hardtop above.
The interior design is smart and contemporary with a dark, masculine palette. Her main deck accommodation comprises a square saloon with lounge and dining areas, galley to port and the full-beam master cabin forward with a his-and-hers bathroom - and the lower-level pilothouse up front. Four VIP double cabins are amidships on the lower deck and the crew’s quarters are in the bow.
The side-launching tender garage is enormous for a yacht of this size – she can carry a 6.7m (22ft) main tender plus a 12ft tender for the crew.
The propulsion package is geared up for high performance with three 1,900hp Caterpillar C32 Acert diesels driving twin MJP waterjets and a central booster. This gives her a top speed of around 35kts and she cruises at 28-30kts. Throttled back to a long-distance passage speed of 10kts, she has a range of 1,600nm. One pair of Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizers with zero speed functionality are fitted.
